Cadbury 1/2 Marathon, 6th January 2008

A birdie told me that it took a little while for Bruce to realise he had inadvertently followed the full marathoners (who had to do an extra circuit) when near the finish and so unnecessarily added to the distance needed to be covered in the ½ marathon!

I think he might have been jealous of Fiona, doing 13 km in the Burnie 10!

Debbie's New Footwear

Debbie in her size 8 shoes she is now wearing, (normal shoe size is 6) .Two sizes too big, due to her wearing orthopaedics on top of the inner sole.

They felt just a little funny the first time she tried to jog in them.

Point to Pinnacle Race

Dale, Debbie, Linda & Joanna were on the bus on the way back from the summit of Mt Wellington and were all needless to say really chuffed with our times and feeling very smug (not to mention relieved we had actually DONE it), when a gentleman tapped Dale on the shoulder to point out the trickle of water which was coming from the back of the seat, (exactly where her bum was), and was falling to the floor and flowing down the centre aisle! Our section of the bus were in stitches with laughter as it really did look like Dale had wet herself! And yes, you may now call her PEE WEE!

Debbie's Burnie 10 Preparations

Debbie's new training regime now includes road driving, so she can prepare herself for any future little falls she'd like to make at the starting line!

Westbury 8 km fun run

Fiona was left totally disgruntled when she was being overtaken by a little child.

Westbury 8 km fun run

Debbie embarrassed herself by trying to enter the gentlemen's toilet.

X-training

Joanna & Debbie do a cross training day once a week and on this particular day kayaking was the nominated choice. (Not supposed to get wet), but did Joanna listen!!!!!

Burnie 10 - 21 October, 2007

Fiona pulled out of the race to go back and help Debbie back to the start line who had had a fall, but when she'd gone the 1 km back, Debbie had gone!

She’d got up and continued the race, eventually beating Fiona over the line as she then had to turn round and get back into the race and try to catch up!
